Travis in LA Daily News

DADDY DRUMMER: Travis Barker may have a Mohawk and, yes, he's covered in tattoos, but make no mistake, this rocker is all about being a dad.

"I love it. It's my favorite thing in the world," he gushes. "I'm not perfect, but I try to do my best. I think every year I get smarter and learn more about being a parent." Fans will see the former blink-182 drummer with his family once again as the second season of his MTV reality series, "Meet the Barkers," premieres Jan. 3. This time there will be an addition, since Travis and his actress/wife Shanna Moakler welcomed their second child - daughter Alabama Louella - on Christmas Eve.

"This season was pretty open. There was really nothing they couldn't film," claims Barker. "With Shanna being pregnant, I didn't drink the whole time either, so it was pretty mellow. Usually the only things they couldn't film last time were if we were drunk or making out and it was too naughty."

As for his career, Barker is soon to be going on tour with his band, the Transplants. "It will be hard to leave the family right now because I've been home for quite a while just being in the studio and producing other projects," he says. "Also, I have a drum-off in January with Adrian Young from No Doubt, so I'm preparing for that. We're doing a 30-minute drum duet together. It's where everyone from the U.S. comes together and competes. It's exciting because you see these young, hungry drummers who are phenomenal. Plus, all the money goes to charity to help music in schools."
